Happy New Year Folks!

"Let this year brings you happiness and prosperity", is the usual greeting by all the ways of data transfer to welcome the new year! But this year faces tough seasons ahead like higher inflation rates for food items which directly affect 'The Common Man', guns at the border with their holders in tense moments, every politician asking for a separate state so that every party leader can become CM atleast once in their lifetime, lands being grabbed voraciously by the very people who has to deliver justice to the people of India, girls being raped just because they are poor and without support, terrorists in all states of India and politicians capitalising on their issue, communal riots for religious politics, provision of TV sets to those places where there is no power, deteriorating sports, increasing don't care attitude towards these menace by the general public as long as they are directly affected and many many, this one blog is not enough. Anyway "happy new year" and "let this year brings you happiness and prosperity"

  3. well it is easy to 'say' a theervu but executing them by each n every individual in harmony in the community wudnt happen over night but is always healthy to talk abt it n take baby steps.wen u look @ the big picture of any global problem it will ultimately boil down wat an individual can do to make a difference.I think every individual ,if he plays his part in the community sincerely the global problems will get corrected by itself like a domino effect thou will take 'some' time.for instance we being trained as docs can make a huge difference thru med educating our patients in making health life choices .well abt 'happy new year' ,u dont wanna wish anyone Edukan varunkaal naguga' all the time .these r tough time we gotto make the best of wat we have in our hands.

  4. i went to chennai book fair today, n had a bad time parking the car and coming out...! the whole process is so badly managed and it took me half an hour to get my car outside...and the important cause for the delay was the goondas in parking booth was collecting money at the exit, stopping each n every car rather than collecting when it was parked...!
something went wrong horribly somewhere in our system , may be along with english we should have learnt some professionalism too from the britishraj!
well, all in the dance of democracy...!
    and happy new year!

  6. As my view goes it is not needed that everyone of us should go to streets and fight for justice. One can what he or she can do best like discussing the topic forums, writing columns, talking to the general public, mass media, mailing letter to editor in newspapers or as I do just blogging! Whatever the method everyone of us wants the same. Am I right? By the way I think that photo talks thousand times more than what can be written or said, hence I put it here. If you folks don't want it I'll remove it. But mere by removing it will not render our memories lost!

  8. Jawahar,Is there even room on our roads for an extra car? I mean when I was doing CRRI in MMC driving in a kinetic honda on ANNA saalai was a nightmare! I love the public transport system in europe n india (auto not pallavan transport corporation) which is so poor in the states.looks like the grass is always green on the other side !!

  9. Injustice is omnipresent..! right from the hysteric breaking news of 24/7 to the silent hunger of a roadside child, its dark spectrum is large ,eroding all strata of soceity ...
in our medic community, starting from MBBS admissions, the PG preps, the ways PG's are exploited/ taught in certain institutions, the peanuts the doctors and nurses get as pay in some hospitals ...
so, wat is in our hands??????
i feel change should start within..acting according to our conscience, spreading awareness (thats wat ur doing ezhil, kudos), being a responsible citizen ( save water, electricity, pay tax properly), treating our subordinates with dignity, and above all, doing justice to the poor patients from whose pain we accquired all our clinical skills!!

  10. gayathri, i didnt mean the traffic congestion in my last post ( though it sounded like that),as its there everywhere..!
i was expressing my grief over the fact that how a common man is taken for granted in our state..! the way we are treated in any govt.., office , when the roads laid by british could stand undamaged decades together, why does roads laid by chennai corporations road turn havoc even for a slightest drizzle???, why is there no seperate pedestrian lane, n they walk in the main road, risking everyone 's life? and halting traffic?
why is their no ramps in any public buildings, dont the physically challenged deserve right to locomote?
we are too sick ....concerning human rights....!
the way we treat the mentally/ physically challenged , the elders , the common man...! thats the barometer of a soceity and we indians hav a long way to go....n
do u feel its still " greener the other side...?????"

  11. well I've to drive 1 n half hr one way to phili every day .on top of that add half hr with snow .it sucks to be on the road for 3 hrs every single day.anyways if we go somewhere n didnt have a good experience there we wudnt go back again .will that not reduce the revenue for the book exhibition ? did the management do anything to fix the parking problem ?

  12. it seems to be too much lamenting to start a warm fresh year... chill out folks! enjoy life... I would suggest a small tip... start enjoying the Indian traffic... if you could see the comicness of the whole fuzz , what else in life would make you lament? ;)

  13. I had started this blog indicating so many problems prevalent in our country. But when one reads down the comments he/she can find that it has diluted to traffic nuisance on our roads. It shows the basic human nature- time makes people to forget the core issues.

  14. well said marz, i could visualize that the topic got diluted long back....! all in the game...! and as u said , thats india...if vijay sucks in sun tv change the channel, go to Aadithya and have a laugh riot...!
